Sausage Strata
1 pound ground pork sausage
6 slices buttered bread, cubed (white bread works best)
2 cups shredded colby jack cheese
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain and set aside.
Sprinkle the cubed bread into a 7X11 baking dish. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, salt, and mustard. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes in the baking dish. Cover well and refrigerate overnight.
Remove the casserole from the refrigerator 30 minutes before you want to begin cooking it
Bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes.
